Starting in spring 2021, “non–degree seeking” healthcare professionals and executives will be able to participate in the Executive MBA elective healthcare courses that culminate in the Business of Healthcare Certificate. Executive Education, in partnership with the Executive MBA program, is offering for the first time the opportunity for participants to enroll in credit-bearing courses, while learning and networking with current Executive MBA students.
“This idea stems from our desire to be career-long learning partners with individuals, meeting their needs for both degree-based learning and shorter format executive development opportunities,” said Chief Corporate Learning Officer Nicola Barrett. “By participating in the Business of Healthcare electives through Executive Education, participants can both broaden and deepen their knowledge and skills and take the first step towards a master’s degree. For those unable to commit the time or resources to seek an Executive MBA, this provides a more manageable ‘first step.’”
The Business of Healthcare Certificate examines the best industry systems and tools used to manage businesses and reframes them for the healthcare sector. The certificate is designed for seasoned personnel and focuses on key issues facing U.S. healthcare.
“The Executive MBA program is enthusiastic about the partnership with Executive Education,” said Associate Dean of Executive MBA Jackie Conner. “This format will afford opportunities for the non-degree participants and degree-seeking students to share ideas and learn the business of healthcare in a collaborative experience. Bringing these groups together will enhance the classroom conversations and learning outcomes.”
Non-degree seeking students who later apply to the Executive MBA program will have credits from these courses applied to their degree.
