Welcome to our newest alumni! Let us all continue to carry on the Goizueta legacy.
For the last four years at commencement, I have had the honor of welcoming GBS graduates across all programs to the Goizueta Alumni Network. It is an exciting time of the year, with new beginnings and an opportunity for new challenges and impact.
As I shared in my commencement remarks, “I hope you continue to take advantage of the great resources and network our great school offers and find ways to give back and stay engaged to help carry on the Goizueta legacy.” It is a helpful reminder to us all.
As my role of President of the Goizueta Alumni Board comes to a close, I feel it is important to outline the board’s key initiatives for the upcoming year, which focus on continuing to strengthen our network and carry on the Goizueta legacy.
Engagement
- The board and the alumni relations team has been hard at work to ensure clear opportunities that support individual interests are easily accessible, further aligning the processes and channels to make engagement a positive experience for all who are interested. Stay tuned for more details over the coming months.
Benefits
- We have taken a critical eye to the various types of social and professional development events and programs the school offers to alumni. We also have created a recognition committee that will further plan and incorporate alumni recognition into programming and media. Existing programs like Goizueta@Work and Goizueta Mentors provide a solid foundation to build from.
Communication
- We know that in today’s environment everyone is flooded with paper and digital communications. It can be hard to get through with the most relevant information via the most appropriate channel. We have committed to further invest in the needed plans and resources. In the future, we hope you will find that our messages further resonate using preferred channels with information that is relevant to you.
To lead the alumni community over the next year, three board members were nominated and approved to serve – Aditya Rao as President, Debbie Perantoni as Vice President, and Leslie Marshburn as Secretary. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve our community as Vice President and President of the Alumni Board over the last four years, but look forward to the future with these strategic, connected, and skilled alumni leaders at the helm.
GBS is gearing up to enter its 100-year anniversary. There will be programs and events around the world for our alumni to get connected, engaged, and invested. I look forward to seeing you all throughout this monumental year.
As I told our recent graduates, “I can speak both from personal experience and from listening to the experiences of many others, as you give back to the school, the school will continue to give back to you.”
Thank you,
Jon
