Leaders encouraged professionals to deploy an extensive network to overcome limited capacity and develop rigorously crafted and well-supported business plans, as only the strongest projects are attracting capital in the current environment.

With Atlanta’s status as a hub for Fortune 1000 companies and real estate investment, the opportunity is clear. Goizueta’s Real Estate program is designed to leverage this market by preparing students with hands-on learning to become leaders and entrepreneurs.

“Our goal is to create a space where education and industry expertise intersect, strengthening not only our students’ potential but also the region’s economic landscape,” shared Gareth James, John H. Harland Dean of Goizueta Business School.

Over the past two decades, Goizueta has built a strong foundation in real estate education, and recent additions, such as the annual Emory Goizueta Real Estate Conference, have solidified its position as a key player in the field. Launched in 2022 by alumni including John Schellhase, Russell Hardin, Bernard Clevens, and John Hillman, the 2024 spring conference garnered more than 650 attendees, fostering an exchange of ideas among top national and regional industry leaders.

Schellhase emphasized the critical role of networking in real estate. “The real estate business is all about personal connections and the ability to generate and maintain relationships. With marquee speakers from New York, Washington DC, and Atlanta, these events are a must-attend for anyone in the industry,” he shared.
