Following an extensive search, Reshunda Mahone joined the Goizueta community as assistant dean and senior director of development this spring. In this role, she leads the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement and heads a team that focuses on alumni and major gifts.
Prior to joining Goizueta, Mahone served as vice president for institutional advancement at Virginia State University. Her move to Goizueta represents something of a homecoming for Mahone; she has worked at two other local higher education institutions, Spelman College and Georgia State University, in annual giving and development. She is an active member in the Council for the Advancement & Support of Education (CASE) and was appointed to their Commission on Philanthropy, the Minority Serving Institution Advisory Board, and District III Board.
Mahone began her career at the University of Florida and also spent time at the University of Central Florida and the University of Miami. “Reshunda is a seasoned and respected professional,” said Dean Erika James. “She possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience, has demonstrated a deep commitment to the advancement profession, and has a contagious enthusiasm for the philanthropic arena. She is a proven leader who models a collaborative approach and her expertise will be a tremendous asset to Goizueta.”
