Nicola BarrettATLANTA — Business and higher education veteran Nicola Barrett has been named Chief Corporate Learning Officer (CCLO) at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, effective July 15, Dean Erika James announced today.

Barrett joins Goizueta from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Executive Education program where she served as Senior Director of Executive Education and Managing Director of Engagement, Impact, and Operations. Barrett led a team of individuals tasked with managing and strengthening relationships with corporate clients, including creating custom learning opportunities in various styles and channels.

“I’m very excited to welcome Nicola to the Goizueta community,” James said. “Her wealth of experience—in corporate America and abroad—will immediately add to the diversity of thought and background that makes our school unique. Her proven ability to collaborate and innovate in the space of executive education and corporate partnerships will surely help us expand our offerings in Atlanta, the United States, and internationally.”

Barrett will be the first to hold the CCLO position at Goizueta, which was created by James in order to centralize and galvanize Goizueta’s outreach into the corporate community. She will oversee all areas of business development and programming, including working with Emory Executive Education staff and faculty to advance course content, design, and delivery for partners and open enrollment programs.

Barrett holds an undergraduate degree from the University of New England (Armidale, Australia) and a Master of Science in Management from Northwestern University. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed The Executive Program at Darden. Her previous work experience includes roles at Melbourne Business School (Melbourne, Australia), FüdPRODUCTS, Advantage.com, Earnst & Young, Bankers Trust Company and IBM Australia.
