Several BBA students are headed to Nicaragua as part of an experiential learning trip with Goizueta’s Social Enterprise.
Social Enterprise in Nicaragua exposes students to the many development challenges faced in Central America and the Caribbean, as well as engages students in discussions related to how business principles and market-based solutions can be applied to achieve meaningful societal impacts.
“The travel module allows students to experience first-hand a range of social enterprises as well as several different focus areas of development,” said trip coordinator Wesley Longhofer, assistant professor of Organization & Management. “We will spend five days in Nicaragua visiting coffee farms, renewable energy firms and a range of other social enterprises. We will then venture to the Dominican Republic to for four days to visit a living wage garment factory, Alta Gracia, that makes university apparel.”
