Battling the hot heat of the July sun and going through more than 1,000 water bottles, MBA students recently completed the 14th annual Leader’s Reaction Course at Fort Benning.
The day consisted of learning about team work under “simulated stress situations.” Everyone had the opportunity to lead a team, receiving feedback after each event and received a team leader’s assessment report from the coach.
This year featured the largest group to date with 76 individuals making up 14 teams. A total of 54 One-Year 18MBA students were able to participate. The event is specifically designed for the class as part of Associate Professor in the Practice of Organization & Management Peter Topping’s leadership course.
Additionally, 11 Evening MBA students and 11 alumni participated in the event as well. This was the first year alumni were invited to participate, and two alumni were 61 years old who graduated from the Full-Time MBA Program in 1984 and 1986.
The event featured a team of 30 trained LRC coaches that created this event for students. The team of coaches was made up of GBS alumni from the Leadership Coaching Fellows Program, Goizueta Advanced Leadership Academy (GALA) and veterans.
There will be two more LRC events this year: September 9th for the EvMBA 2019 class and October 28th for the WEMBA 2020 class.
